What You Need to Know About Video Visits

Follow up appointments, new patient visits, connecting with ob/gyn specialists, GI specialists, dermatologists, mental health check-ins, Internal Medicine and Family Care doctors.
- Cost & Insurance Options
Telemedicine services for adults and children are now covered by many insurance providers. You can contact your carrier to determine if Video Visits are covered under your insurance plan. Medicare and almost all plans do reimburse for these services. For accepted plans, we collect your out-of-pocket responsibility for a Video Visit and bill your insurance for the remaining balance in the same way we would for an office visit.
- Technology Required
Video Visits can be conducted using either an Android or iOS (Apple) device with the appropriate apps installed as instructed by your care team. You may also use a desktop or laptop device that has a webcam if preferred
My doctor has scheduled a Video Visit with me. How can I get started?
The steps to have a video visit will vary slightly based on the care you’re receiving. First time patients will fill out a registration form giving our providers information necessary to properly treat you. You will be able to have a video visit from your computer, as well as from your phone or tablet through the TeleCareVisits healow app.
When can I use this service?
You can set up a doctor visit for any opening on the doctor’s schedule which you can access in the app.
Can I use this service for my child?
Yes. Please fill out a separate registration form for your child to get started.
How much does this service cost?
This visit will either cost $75 for a 15-minute consultation. $85 for a 15-minute consultation with a specialist, $99 for a psychological consultation, and $299 for a psychological assessment. If you don’t have insurance, you can self-pay using your credit or debit card. Nearly all insurances cover these costs. There might be a small co-pay.
Can I get a prescription?
Yes, if medically appropriate. Like an in-person appointment, the prescription will be ready on the same day, and delivered to the pharmacy of your choice. If you specify, the prescription can be mailed to you as well. We do not prescribe government controlled substances.
What equipment and devices do I need?
In order to use this service, you will need:
- A smart phone with:
- Front facing camera
- Broadband internet, with a minimum bandwidth of 1 Mb/s
- A desktop or laptop computer with a webcam
